Modern Jive began in France after the second world war, where American GI’s had introduced jitterbug and swing dancing. During the 80’s it developed a very modern unique style and since then its popularity has spread rapidly throughout Europe and the U.K., with Australia being enraptured by this exciting style of partner dance over the last 10 years. |

Modern Jive is terrific fun and a great way to keep fit. It is also very easy to learn, however, at Jiveworks, we believe that if you have had little or no experience in partner dancing, a bracket of six weekly lessons is recommended to ensure a firm understanding of this style of dance and its teaching procedures. With this in mind, Jiveworks offers a Five Week Lesson package for Beginners of only $40.00. Come along and learn to dance Modern Jive, a saucy blend of Latin and Jive with a bit of “dirty dancing” thrown in. All ages are welcome and you don’t need a partner. Classes at: Murarrie Progress Hall, 10 Queensport Road, Murarrie on Tuesdays and at St Edwards Function Centre, 104 Chatswood Road, Daisy Hill on Wednesdays.
