As I have mentioned above this web site is now interactive. There is a Chat Room to use if and when you want to use it. If you have a group of friends or colleagues and you would like to discuss a certain issues at a certain time, then all you need to do is to let each other know when, and you can establish your own private Chat facility online.
Of greater interest, to me anyway, is the Forum Facility that I have published. A forum, which is sometimes referred to as a bulletin board or discussion board, is a facility in which participants can respond to any topic that has been raised, or if they prefer they can initiate discuss on a new topic of their choice.
These notes I am writing on Sunday 20 July, 2008. The forum has had very little usage since it was established just over a week ago. I would really like this usage to increase considerably. I have had numerous verbal suggestions made to me about Aussie Dances since they were commenced in August 2007. Now with the discussion board, you have the chance to put those suggestions in writing, and have others respond to them.
I really would appreciate receiving your suggestions and advise. However, please try to keep everything you say positive and constructive. The site is moderated. It has been designed to share ideas and to give feedback, so please consider participating.
Spam No, I don’t mean the tinned ham type of spam. I am referring to unsolicited postings. All of you who have e-mail accounts will know what I am talking about. Unfortunately, the more often your e-mail address is out there for others to see the more spam you are likely to receive. I have several e-mail accounts which are listed on web sites. A dilemma I have is how do I publicise my contact advise for people to contact me and avoid spam?
I have got into the habit now of scanning my email accounts on the web before downloading them, and deleting most of the spam. Unfortunately, sometimes I delete genuine e-mails in error, using this method, so my apologies in advance if you send me an e-mail and don’t get a response.
These spammers have even accessed my Blog sites, and are really just of nuisance value there, because their offers of Rolex watches, or products to improve my sex life never get published on my sites.
Spammers will no doubt also find access to the Aussie Dances discussion board site. But, if you are a spammer and are reading this, then Don’t waste your time. You post and your account will be deleted as soon as I come across it. I will have access to your IP address, and this will be reported to your ISP and spammer listing sites as a spammer.
Please treat everyone on the discussion board site respectfully as you’d like to be treated. Inappropriate posts will be deleted without notice, along with the poster’s account.
Now, having said all of that, please become involved, and be “nice”.
