Communication and Aussie Dances
Effective communication channels are vital for the success of any firm, organisation or event.
Feedback, suggestions, ideas etc., can be given verbally in person at any of the Aussie Dances dances on Friday and Saturday nights, or over the telephone. Ian McKenzie’s contact information is on the Contact Us page of this web site. Written feedback can be given by E-mail or by filling out the “Feedback Form” which is at the bottom of every page of this web site.
At Aussie Dances we do have a business plan to guide us regarding how we operate. We are working towards giving the majority of the market segment that we are catering for the best value for money that we can. But, “plans” are just that plans. They can and will be changed at Aussie Dances, if there is sufficient evidence to suggest that this should be done.
We do accept that we can not always please everybody, nor should we try to, but we certainly will listen to everybody and consider what has been said.
Further Communication
Newsletters Communication at Aussie Dances does not stop at in person contact, email, telephones, feed back forms, guest book entries and testimonials forms. We have an informative weekly newsletter which is E-mailed out to subscribers every week. If you are not already a subscriber, you can easily become one by filling in the simple form at the right side on any page on this web site. After being published, I also archive the newsletters on this web site. This is generally done within a few days of each newsletter being published. You are able to read previous newsletters and even print off a copy for yourself if you wish. Just go to the Newsletters page on this web site.
Courier Mail If at some time you don’t have access to the internet and you would like to know where Aussie Dances are on a Saturday night, we place an advertisement in the Social pages of Saturday’s Courier Mail on the Saturdays that we have dances planned. Our dances on Friday nights are always at theMt Gravatt Bowls Club. The 2008 Dances page on this web site is kept current. I generally change that page the same day that any new arrangements are made regarding the Aussie Dances program.
Radio 4BC We have secured a spot for Aussie Dances on Radio Station 4BC every Tuesday night around 8.30 pm. Tune in to hear where we will be, the bands we will have performing and who will be taking the FREE dance lessons that particular week.
Web Sites The home page of this web site is changed each week following our Dances to show the program for the coming Friday and Saturday dances. The At the Dance page is also updated usually every Sunday. A brief report on both the Friday and Saturday night dances is given on this page. All of these reports since we started Aussie Dances have been archived and are available to read. The 2008 Dances page is updated regularly to show where we will be and with what performers for several weeks in advance. The FREE Dance lessons page is also updated regularly to show which Dance Studios will be working with us, and what they will be teaching.
I have published a supplementary web site to this one. On it I have pages on dance etiquette, philosophy of Aussie Dances, advertising and some other topics. I have made it the landing site for anyone going to our adverrtised web site, www.aussiedances.com . It has fewer pages than this site and therefore probably easier to navigate. It does however have frequent links coming back to relevant pages on this site.
Several other web sites related to dance, such as music for dance, that I have published have links on the right hand side of each page of this web site.
Supporters’ Links The Supporter’s Links page on this web site has links to a page for each of the Aussie Dances supporters who have been given a free page on this web site for supporting Aussie Dances. Each of the bands/performers and dance studios working with us have been given a free page on the site. Businesses can pay a nominal fee to also have a page on this site. These businesses will be listed in alphabetical order along with the other Aussie Dances Supporters on the Supporters’ Links page. Advertising will also be accepted for this and my other dance sites. Details are listed on Ian’s Sites The URL is: www.ianssites.com
Chat Room I added a chat room as a sub-domain of the Aussie Dances supplementary site on the 10 July, 2008. The chat room is available for anyone who wishes to use it. However, you do need to register first. If you would like to be involved in a chat, you will probably need to prearrange the time with the others with whom you would like to chat. Private chat room facilities are available.
Forum - Bulletin Board A forum or bulletin board was also added on the 10 July, 2008. The links to both the chat room and the forum are on the home page of the Aussie dances supplementary site, and on this web site. The forum is a facility where you can leave a written message and/or respond to messages left by others. Once again, you will first need to register to use the facility.
There are rules to follow, and the site is moderated ..., by me. Most people “play fair”, but unfortunately there are some out there who are nothing more than nuisance value. There is one person for example who daily sends me anything from one to six spam messages. I do know who she is, and I am chuffed that someone from another organisation involved with dance daily visits Aussie Dances web site to fill out the feedback form ..., even though I put her in the same category as e-mail spammers and those who destroy public property with graffiti. I do have access to the IP address of all those giving feedback.
Aussie Dances Blog Site This has just been added (2 August, 2008). This is a blog site that anyone can register with and tell your dance stories. If you want to just say a few words about an issue, then use our Bulletin Board, but if you have a longer story to tell, then go to the Aussie Dances Blog Site.
