Chermside Bowls Club is situated at 468 Rode Road, Chermside. This is between Gympie and Webster Roads. The facility is reasonably close to Brisbane’s CBD and easily accessible. There is plenty of parking behind the venue, with access from Rode Road.

Aussie Dances new North-side Home

Chermside Bowls Club is facility which has a fresh, neat, friendly feel. It has a large wooden, good quality dance floor. I stepped the floor out when I was there last week (May, 2008), and estimate it to be about 12 metres by 20 Metres in size. The dance floor area opens up with large sliding glass doors to an outside area which will also be accessible for Aussie Dancers. The restaurant and bar facilities will of course also be available for our use. The lunch I had there last week was delicious, economically priced and was a generous size serving.

I am sure that Aussie Dancers from all parts of Brisbane will look forward to our dances at the Chermside Bowls Club. As I have stated in the heading above, I am making Chermside Bowls Club our new north-side Aussie Dances home. It is already booked for two Saturday Aussie Dances each month from August this year.

FREE Dance Lessons

Kevin Bennion, the Principal of Dance Experience Dance Studio*, has agreed to give a FREE Dance Lesson to all Aussie Dances Participants who wish to be involved every night that we have a dance planned for the Chermside Bowls Club. The dance lesson will be taken at the club between 7.00pm and 8.00pm.

If you have not danced for some time and would like some refresher lessons, or if you have not danced before and would like to be able to learn the basic steps of the all the popular dances, then here is your opportunity to do so.

The dance lesson will be followed by social dancing with LIVE music for ALIVE people from 8.00pm through until 11.30pm.

The cost for the entire night of dancing fun is only $12, which is payable at the door. there is no need to pre-book ..., just turn up with your friends and have a fun-filled night of entertainment and dancing.

(*Dance Experience was established in 1956 and is one of Brisbane’s oldest, established and best known dance schools. Their main studio at Nundah is just a stone’s throw away from the Chermside Bowls Club.

The Principal of Dance Experience, Kevin Bennion is a (Fellow) Modern - Latin and New Vogue and is an International and World Championship Adjudicator.)
