Friday 8 & Saturday 9 August A great night, a great band Rimshot. The numbers were down a bit ..., the Olympic games opening ceremony was on, but there was plenty of room on the dance floor. On Saturday we were at Chermside Bowls Club and Mike and Vic who are Harmonic Balance provided a great night of music. Thanks also Mike for donating a bottle of wine as a prize.
Friday 1 August They are always fabulous. Street Cafe, I am referring to. And Lisa and Allan didn’t disappoint us on Friday night. A great night of music, dancing and fun.
Friday 25 July 2008 Harmonic Balance duo Mike and Vic sang in harmony for us and helped provide a night of dance fun on what otherwise was a fairly cold and miserable July night. It was also Vic’s 50th birthday, and birthday cake was shared around.
Friday 18 and Saturday 19 July Two consecutive nights of music provided by top class performers. On Friday Faze 4 played great lively Rock and Roll music, which was punctuated with the occasional Cha Cha , Waltz and sequence dance. On Saturday we had Altotude playing at Sherwood Services Club. Each time Altotude has played for us, I receive several comments about what a beautiful voice Garth has. Unfortunately the numbers attending the dances on these two nights were disappointing. I have more to say about this in this weeks Newsletter and on the Aussie Dances Discussion Board.
Friday 11 July and Saturday 12 July
We had two great nights of dancing fun with Street Cafe at the Mt Gravatt Bowls Club on Friday night and Swizzle at the Chermside Bowls Club on Saturday night.
We had a large group of dancers attending both evenings to enjoy these two top duos. I was really pleased to see all the ‘new faces’ on Saturday at Chermside (and all the older ones* of course). Many commented on what a good night it was when leaving. I hope you keep coming along.
(*that’s ‘older’ in terms of attendance at Aussie dances - not chronological years)
